Studio Opening Times
'Spring 2019 Exhibition'
Saturday 23rd March to Wednesday 4th April
The Station, Richmond, DL10 4LD
Suzanne and Victoria’s spring exhibition has become an annual event at The Station. Their love of colour once again bringing them together; Suzanne, a talented Lampwork Artist and Jewellery Designer and Victoria, specialising in creating original artwork using a tissue paper collage technique. The exhibition promises to be uplifting, displaying their stunning, unique and very original work.
Victoria returns to the Station for her only exhibition outside of her Studio base at Eggleston Hall Gardens.
Turning the Station mezzanine into a blaze of colour with her tissue paper collages of the many flowers and meadows that call their home Teesdale. The fine detailing that Victoria encapsulates re-creating these wonderful, reflective and peaceful images
This exhibition will enable people to have a first viewing of Victoria’s 2019 tissue paper collage collections. This includes original artworks, limited and open edition prints along with her growing range of bespoke products inspired by and featuring, many of her tissue paper collage designs, including coasters, placemats, fine china mugs, greeting cards, notebooks, sketchbooks and journals.
Lampwork artist Suzanne Tweddle’s studio is situated in the beautiful market town of Barnard Castle from which she designs and hand makes glass beads, buttons, baubles, flowers and jewellery using a technique known as lampworking – ‘the art of making small objects from glass rods melted in the flame of a torch’.
Suzanne's discovery and exploration of the art of lampworking has drawn her towards the use of glass as a medium to incorporate into her jewellery designs, injecting colour and contrast to the silver and other materials used.
'Lampworking is a technique that enables me to design and individually make beautiful beads with intricate detail, making each bead unique. Colour is what motivates my designs, from the brightest oranges to the coolest blues. The combinations evolve through experimentation reflected in nature, fabrics and fashion.'
With 15 years of bead making experience Suzanne also offers tuition in lampworking at her studio in Barnard Castle.
